What is Hypnotherapy/Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a naturally occurring form of consciousness, which produces feelings of calm and relaxation of the mind and body. In order to describe what hypnosis is, it may be easier to firstly describe what it is not. Many people I speak to about hypnosis immediately think of stage hypnosis, which brings with it all kinds of mis conceptions about hypnosis and hypnotherapy.

In the state of hypnosis you will not experience any loss of consciousness, instead you become more conscious and aware the deeper you go into hypnosis. You will be aware of everything while in hypnosis, so you won’t be revealing any personal secrets or lose control in any way.

Common feelings associated with the state of hypnosis are feelings of deep relaxation, increased awareness, and a calm day-dream like state with an all over feeling of well being. While in this state it becomes possible to produce deep and enduring changes, that can enable the integration of new ideas and perspectives which you will use in every day life.

These treatments can allow great personal growth and development in whichever area of your life you feel is lacking or want to focus on. I will go through a full case history before any hypnotherapy takes place to ensure you benefit the most from the therapy.

Hypnotherapy is becoming a more and more popular form of alternative therapy and is also recognised and approved by the BMA, British Medical Association.
